Why hackers love the phasing out of windows 7…
Why is Windows 7 a potential risk for your practice operation?
Are you still using Windows 7? Then watch out. Microsoft will end its support for Windows 7 by the beginning of 2020. Security flaws will not get fixed after the 14th of January 2020. Do you know who loves this? Hackers!
Hackers love to use these security flaws to unnoticeably infiltrate your practice system. If hackers notice such a security flaw, they will immediately distribute this information on several platforms, leading to attacks right away. What could happen if such an unauthorized access occurs? Hackers could encrypt sensitive patient data, so you wouldn’t be able to access them anymore. In other words, you wouldn’t be able to run your practice. If the malicious software is obstinate, you may have to change your complete server system. Besides the loss of your precious time, this can cause an immense monetary damage.
What do you need to do if you’re currently working with Windows 7?
ifa will end its tests for upcoming software updates under Windows 7 by the beginning of 2020. If you have Windows 7, you will still be able to continue using ifa, but at some point we can no longer guarantee that all our functionalities will continue to work properly. To prevent cyberattacks we suggest that you change your operating system to the current Windows 10 system.
We will support you if you want to switch. In this case, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you’re still using an older system, such as Windows Vista or Windows XP, we highly recommend changing your system immediately.
